When the foot slips the wound can be mended; but when the tongue slips, the wound it causes in the heart of another will fester for life. The tongue is liable to four big errors; uttering falsehood, scandalizing, finding fault with others and excessive articulation. These have to be avoided. Practice moderation in speech. That will help you in many ways. The bond of brotherhood will be tightened if people speak less and speak sweet.

Criticizing others, finding fault with them, all this comes out of egoism. Search for your own faults instead; the faults you see in others are but reflections of your own personality traits. The others are part of yourself; you need not worry about them; worry about yourself, that is enough.

Do not exaggerate the fault of others, but, give them a wide margin and see them as small. Exaggerate yours, see them big and strive to remove them fast. Take all fault finders as your friends and well wishers, for they give you warning signals in time.
